Place based learning at PEAKS
Grade 4 students extended their learning into the outdoors to build an understanding of the importance of grasslands while at PEAKS Education Campus Friday. Our guests and experts included Dale Paton; Conservation Biologist, Emilie Brien; Nature Conservancy of Canada Area Manager, Aileen Davidson; Crowsnest Conservation Society board member, and Jason Clifton; PEAKS Place Based Learning Facilitator.
Students participated in various indoor and outdoor stations to build knowledge, understanding and an appreciation of grasslands through the lenses of ecology, economy, and culture.
We are thankful to the Alberta Conservation Association for covering all costs for this place based learning trip!
