The First Day of the School Year is Approaching- Here's what you need to know!- Updated Information
We are days away from the first day of school! The following updates and information will be helpful to our students and families:
Our bell times have changed slightly- First bell is at 8:29am, instruction begins at 8:35am. Dismissal time continues to be 3:20pm (Mon-Thurs.), and Friday at 1:20pm. Our full bell schedule is available on the school website.
While students continue to be permitted to snack in the classroom during the school day (exception is Art, Music, Learning Commons); new this year, is that students may eat snacks during outside recess. With early dismissal on Friday's, students will continue to have embedded scrunch time in the classroom.
Cell phone Ministerial Order and LRSD Board Policy- The use of cell phones/Smart watches/electronic devices are not permitted from bell to bell. The timeframe between the first bell, 8:29am and the last bell, 3:20 (1:20) falls within instructional time. All electronic devices must be kept in backpacks in student lockers between these times.
We are excited about the number of new students registering at our school! We continue to work on class lists to ensure the best balance for your child's success. To inquire about your child's teacher, you may call Amber at the school anytime between 10:30am and 12:30pm on August 30th.
Our online systems will not update with parent/guardian emails until midnight tonight so teachers are unable to send an introductory email. Our staff looks forward to meeting your child on Tuesday!
First day- ISS Staff will meet students and families in the school yard starting at 8:15am. Staff will have class lists with them to assist in locating teachers and the class meeting point on the tarmac. Prior to heading into the school, we will gather for staff introductions and a brief welcome message.
Welcome Back BBQ and Open House on September 18th between 5:30pm and 7pm
